Description:
The Deland Award for Student Research at the Arnold Arboretum was established in 1992 as an endowed-fund program through a generous bequest by F. Stanton Deland, Jr., Harvard class of 1936. The Award supports research by graduate and advanced undergraduate students working on the comparative biology of woody plants, including developmental biology, physiology, genetics, reproductive biology, or ecology. Preference is given to students whose research utilizes the living collections of the Arnold Arboretum.
Restrictions And Award Amount:
Funds granted through the Deland Award program shall be used only for research expenses and may include living expenses during the time of the research. Funds shall not be used to substitute for departmental tuition or stipend. Awards are typically limited to $5,000 or less.
