University of Auckland Scholarships 2010/11-New Zealand Citizens/Residents-New Zealand
The University of Auckland invites applications for the New Zealand citizens or permanent residents for a full time degree program in New Zealand
The Scholarships were established in 2002 and are funded by The University of Auckland. The main purpose of the Scholarships is to recognise and reward academic excellence, all-round ability and leadership potential among New Zealand students wishing to enter an undergraduate degree programme at The University of Auckland.
Value of Award:
$2,500 or $5,000 pa plus tuition and compulsory fees pa and two return.
Selection Process:
The Scholarships will be offered to students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of over two years standing, currently in Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school and intending to enrol in a full-time degree programme at The University of Auckland in the following year.
The initial basis of selection will be outstanding academic ability based on results at Level 2 or higher in the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) or an equivalent qualification, as well as demonstrating leadership potential, all-round ability and achievement in cultural and sporting abilities and motivation to attend a research-led University. To hold the Scholarship, the awardee must gain at least 80 credits at Level 3 or Level 4 NCEA with a substantial proportion at Excellence, or an equivalent standard in another qualification for University Entrance.
Application Procedure:
Complete Application Form can be downloaded online. Applications by way of a form close with the Scholarships Office on 10 September of the year preceding the award. If the closing date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, applications will be accepted up to 5pm on the next working day.
