Scholarship Description:
This program recognizes and encourages academic achievements by awarding scholarships to full time undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree that may lead to a career in the actuarial profession.The applicant must have at least one birth parent who is a member of one of the following minority groups Black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American.The candidate must have minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), emphasis on math or actuarial courses. High school seniors must have a minimum ACT math score of 28 or SAT math score of 600. Intent on pursuing a career in the actuarial profession.

Scholarship Description:
The Lillian S. Fisher Prize will be awarded at the end of the academic year to a student at the University Of Arizona James E. Rogers College Of Law. The prize will be a $1000 stipend. The recipient will be selected on the basis of a competition, judged by faculty members of the Rogers College of Law and the Udall Center. To apply, the student should submit an original essay on some subject relating to environmental law or public policy.

The essays will be judged for their scholarly merit and contribution to the field. The winning paper will be considered for publication as a booklet by the Udall Center. The winning 2010 Fisher Prize paper is currently under review for publication in Fall 2011. Bootten Bequest Bursaries are available to support students in their first year of tertiary study who are in difficult financial circumstances. The Bootten Bequest is also used to make repayable hardship loans to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.Tenure And Value:
The Bootten Bequest Bursaries will have a value, as funds permit, up to $2000 each per annum.

Eligibility:
Open to internal, extramural, or mixed mode students enrolled full-time, (for a minimum of 105 credits) in the first year of a first undergraduate degree at any Massey University campus,Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Criteria:
Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial hardship, and who also have a record of academic success in their studies to date. Evidence of good character may also be taken into consideration.

Responsibility:
The bursaries will be awarded on the recommendation of the Scholarships Committee.

Conditions Of The Award:
In recommending the award of a bursary the Scholarships Committee will take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicant with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of monies among qualifying candidates.The Scholarships Committee may withdraw or suspend an award at any time.

Payment:
The Bursary will be paid in two instalments in April and August.

Applicants are required to sign the following statement: ‘If chosen as a finalist for this award, I authorize the release of my record of criminal offense from the Wanganui Computer Centre to the Selection Committee, to ensure I comply with the criteria for this Scholarship. I understand that all details of this record check will remain confidential to the members of the Selection Committee and no copy of this material will be retained on any files held by the University or relating to this Scholarship.

The Scholarship shall be awarded to a candidate who is enrolled and has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for a full-time Doctoral study program me at the University of Auckland.
