USC Center On Public Diplomacy At Annerberg School Invites CPD Research Fellowship At USA In 2010
Job Description:
The Center is now accepting applications for new Research Fellows from scholars and practitioners of public diplomacy for the 2010-2012 term. This is a non-resident Fellowship program. CPD Research Fellows will be expected to oversee a substantive research project that will yield at least two publications for the Center’s publication series, CPD Perspectives on Public Diplomacy, and periodic blog posts on their projects for the CPD Blog.Successful candidates will each receive a $2,500 stipend over the two-year term as well as travel expenses for a visit to the Center, where they will meet with students and faculty to discuss their research. Additionally, the Center will offer research assistance to CPD Research Fellows from Master of Public Diplomacy students at USC, and, as1 necessary, a modest budget for execution of the project.
Evaluation Criteria:
A Faculty Review Committee will evaluate all applications. Awards will be announced in Fall 2010 and CPD Research Fellows and their respective research projects will be listed on the CPD Web site: www.uscpublicdiplomacy.org.
Application Procedure:
Applicants to the CPD Research Fellowship program must submit the following:
1) Completed application form.
2) Curriculum vitae.
3) A 2-4 page research proposal with a clear description of the project and objectives, an explanation of research needs and a proposed timeline.Applications are due Monday, August 2, 2010 via email to Naomi Leight (leight@usc.edu) with “CPD Research Fellowship Program” as the email subject.About the USC Center on Public Diplomacy The USC Center on Public Diplomacy at the Annenberg School (CPD) was established in 2003 as a partnership between the Annenberg School for Communication and the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California. It is a research, analysis and professional training organization dedicated to furthering the study and practice of public diplomacy. In August 2009, the Center launched a new non-resident Research Fellowship program intended to support and publicize the work of scholars and practitioners of public diplomacy. Selected from a competitive pool of international applicants by a faculty review committee, CPD Research Fellows oversee a substantive research project that yields at least two publications for the Center’s publication series, CPD Perspectives on Public Diplomacy, and periodic posts to the CPD Blog. Three fellowships are awarded each year in which each fellow serves a two-year term.
