Australian Government Postdoctoral Fellowship In Clinical Research For New Zealand Citizen At Australia in 2011
Scholarship Description:
Clinical research involves contact with patients or has a direct link to patient outcomes.Applicants must demonstrate medical, paramedical, allied health or public health professional activity. The fellowships can be full-time or part-time. Part-time fellowships are for people who wish to maintain an active research role but continue to provide clinicalcare.
The part-time fellowships are available for 30-70% of a full-time position with the value of the award adjusted pro-rata. Applications for part-time fellowships must be justified in professional terms. Applicants must plan to combine their clinical duties with their research and be able to demonstrate an interface between the two.
Qualifications:
Applicants at CDF Level 1 will normally have at least 2 and less than 7years post-doctoral experience from the date of the letter advising that their doctoral thesis was passed (as at 31 March of the application year) unless exceptional circumstances exist (refer to Section 7.3 Exceptional Circumstances).Applicants at CDF Level 2 will normally have at least 7 and less than 12years post-doctoral experience from the date of the letter advising that their doctoral thesis was passed (as at 31 March of application year) unless exceptional circumstances exist (refer to Section 7.3 ExceptionalCircumstances).
How To Apply:
May additionally apply at CDF Level 2, in which case two separate applications will need to be submitted (each of which will assessed independently of the other).Are able to apply at CDF Level 2 only if they wish to do so.Applicants who do not hold a PhD but can demonstrate an equivalent research qualification (eg a professional doctorate) may also be eligible to apply.Current or Former CDA or CDF HoldersPrior to the 2007 application year (for awards commencing in 2008), CDAs were a single level award of 5 years duration. Those who have held or currently hold one of these ‘old scheme’ CDAs:
* are not eligible to apply at CDF Level 1; and
* may apply at CDF Level 2 if they are qualified to do so.
* Applicants who have held or currently hold a CDA/CDF Level 1 award:
* Are not eligible to apply for a CDF at Level 1; and
* Are eligible to apply for a CDF at Level 2 if they are qualified to do so.
* Applicants who have held or currently hold a CDA/CDF Level 2 award are
not eligible to apply for a CDF Level 1 or CDF Level 2.
