DAAD Scholarships 2010/11-Science/Engineering Working Internships-Indian Students-Germany
Working Internships in Science and Engineering for Indian Students in Germany for the year 2010/11 by DAAD.
DAAD stands for “Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst”, also known as German Academic Exchange Service. DAAD is a joint organisation of German institutions of higher education and student bodies. Our aim is to promote academic co-operation world wide, especially through the exchange of students, scholars, academics, and scientists.DAAD offers 2-3 months internship at institutions of higher education and research institutes in Germany with German doctoral students, scientists or professors on research projects.
Eligibility:
- Full time Indian undergraduate students in their 5th, 6th and 7th Semester registered at one of the selected Indian Universities
- For reapplication only: Full time Indian graduate students in their 1st and 2nd semester registered at one of the selected Indian Universities
- Above average marks: Aggregate marks of 75 % and above or CGPA 3.5/ 4 or 7.5/ 10 of completed semesters at the time of application.
- Detailed motivation letter.
- Acceptance cum invitation letter from a German Professor for the internship. Only one invitation letter will be accepted.
- German language skills are not mandatory.
How to apply:
All the following documents must be presented by the applicant and should be arranged in the following manner:
- 3 print-outs of the DAAD online application form submitted online with a passport-size photograph attached to each form.
- 3 typed copies of full curriculum-vitae (bio-data).
- 3 copies of letter of motivation from the student.
- 3 copies of “Certificate of enrolment” (see attached ZAV form) needs to be filled by the student and attested by his parent University.
- 3 copies of the invitation letter from German host signed by the Head of the respective department including a summary of the research project in which the candidate will be placed. The summary can be mentioned in the invitation letter or in the form “Offer by German Host”.
- 3 copies of the form “Offer by German Host” to be filled and signed by the German Professor. The name and address of the person supervising the intern should be clearly mentioned in the form.
- 1 reference from senior academic mentor from the applicant’s field of study on the proforma available on our website. The referee’s title and academic status should be clearly indicated in this (with official rubber-stamp). This should be CONFIDENTIAL (in sealed envelopes) and should be recent-dated.
- 3 copies of all chronologically arranged university/ college certificates and mark-sheets (all copies must be attested; attested English translation, if the originals are in Hindi; Attestation can be done by a gazetted Government officer. Photocopies must be attested!
