DAAD Research Stays Scholarships 2010/11-Indian Scientists-Germany
DAAD Scholarships invites applications for the year 2010/11 from Indian Academics and Indian Scientists for Research Stays in Germany
The purpose of this Scholarship offered by DAAD is to carry out a research project at a state (public) or state recognised higher education institution or non-university research institute in Germany.
Eligibility:
- The applicant should be a university academic or scientist on active duty, who should generally hold a doctorate/PhD.
- The most important selection criterion is a convincing and well planned research project to be completed during the stay in Germany. The content and schedule must have been coordinated and agreed with an academic supervisor or research collaboration partner at the German host institution in question.
- Written confirmation of the planned cooperation project, including express reference to the applicant’s project, must be included with the application.
- The application must include proof of a workplace being provided at the host institute.
- DAAD support for a research stay can only be awarded once in any three-year period.
- Former fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation are requested to contact the Humboldt-Foundation first.
Research Stay Details:
The monthly award will amount to 1,840 euros. It may vary depending upon the applicant’s academic status.
The DAAD may pay an appropriate flat-rate travel allowance,unless these costs are covered by the home country or another funding source.
How to apply:
All the following documents must be presented by the applicant and should be arranged in the following manner:
- 2 copies of the duly filled-in application form.
- 2 copies of bio-data.
- 2 copies of detailed and precise description of the research work envisaged during the proposed stay at the German institute.
- 2 copies of recent correspondence (not older than 6 months) with the German counterparts agreeing to the proposed research plan and the suggested time schedule.
- 2 copies of detailed itinerary indicating the names of all the scientists/ professors and institutes to be visited
- 2 copies of list of publications.
- 2 copies of certificate from the employers granting paid research leave for the duration of their visit.
