The Purpose Of Waste Minimisation Postgraduate Scholarship Is To Encourage Thinking And To Support Research At New Zealand In 2010
Background:
Full-time university students undertaking postgraduate studies in New Zealand can apply to the Christchurch City Council for a maximum scholarship of $5,000 per year per applicant.The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage thinking and to support research into waste minimisation applicable to Christchurch City. In particular, to assist the Christchurch community advance on the goals and targets contained in the Council’s Waste Management Plan.Waste minimisation encompasses a wide range of topics from public policy and education to economics and engineering. All relevant fields of research will be considered and proposals will be assessed based their relevance to Christchurch and to the Christchurch City Council’s Waste Management Plan. .

4). Project description including:
Title;
Thesis;
Objective(s);
Relevance to Christchurch and the Council’s Waste Management Plan;
An outline of the proposed methodology; and
A list of related publications (if applicable).
5). Certified copy of your academic record.
6). Outline of your related experience and other particulars that may support your application.

Applications should be made no later than 31 October in the year preceding the year of the award and should be sent to:

* There are different forms for different awards. Please make sure you have the correct form. Most forms are available from Contact Centres, Massey University, Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington, telephone 0800 MASSEY (0800 627739), email: Contact@massey.ac.nz.
* Please read the regulations carefully to ensure that you are eligible to apply for the particular scholarship or bursary.
* Complete the form in black pen, ensure you answer all sections correctly and that you have provided all the information requested, ie supporting statement, course proposal, birth certificate, etc.
* Do not send original documents, certified copies are acceptable.
* Do not include additional information, ie CV unless specifically requested to do so. It will not assist your application.
* All pages should be A4 size, single sided, and stapled (with one staple only) in the top right hand corner. Do not put your application in a folder.
* Ensure your completed application arrives at the Graduate Research School, or other address given on the form, on or before the closing date. No undertaking is given to accept late or incomplete applications. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to you on receipt of your application.
