2009/10 Martin Memorial Scholarship for the Student Teachers at Queen’s University Belfast in UK

This scholarship was founded in 1921 from the balance of the R.T. Martin Memorial Fund and a donation from Mrs Martin.

It is intended to assist students pursuing a course of teacher training in the School of Education, Stranmillis University College or St Mary’s University College who intend teaching in schools in Northern Ireland.

On the recommendation of the Scholarships & Awards Group at least one scholarship, with a minimum value of £400, will be awarded, once every three years, or more frequently if funds permit.  The Scholarships & Awards Group will take into account the academic merit and financial circumstances of each applicant in determining the recipient(s) of the award(s).


Scholarship value:

Martin Memorial Scholarship of at least £400.


Eligibility:

  1. be a student teacher in the School of Education, Stranmillis University College or St Mary’s University College
  2. academic performance been of a high standard to date (ie. 2:1 or above)
