The Uppsala ATLAS group is part of the High Energy Physics group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and currently consists of three faculty members, one post-doctor and three graduate students. We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated PhD student with keen interest in experimental physics and competence within data analysis programs (e.g. C++ and ROOT). The PhD student will work on physics analysis of data from ATLAS and take part in the development of tools for distributed analysis on the grid needed for this purpose.The PhD position is funded for four years, extendible to a maximum of five years including department duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching).
