Diocesan Scholarships 2010/11-Year 7 Level Students-Walford Anglican Girls School-South Australia

The Walford Anglican Girls School offers The Diocesan Scholarships to Year 7 Level Students for the year 2010/11 in Hyde Park, South Australia

Each year Walford offers two Diocesan Scholarships which provide for remission of 25% tuition fees for up to five years on the recommendation of the Principal. These are awarded to candidates entering the school at Year 8 level in the following year.

Eligibility:

1. The Diocesan Scholarship is open to any girl attending an Anglican primary school in Year 7 in 2010.
2. The Scholarship is awarded on the understanding that the recipient will complete her secondary education at Walford. The continuation of the Scholarship each year is subject to the recipient making good academic progress, displaying conduct of a high standard and contributing to the life of the school.

Application Procedure:

1. Candidates should complete the accompanying application form and return it to the Director of Admissions, Walford Anglican School for Girls, 316 Unley Road, Hyde Park 5061.
2. Please attach a copy of the applicant’s latest school report to her application, together with a recent character reference and any other relevant documentation pertaining to her experiences and achievements.
3. Financial circumstances may be taken into consideration. Details should be provided in a sealed envelope marked “In confidence” and addressed to the Principal. This should accompany your application.
4. An application fee of A$30.00 must accompany each application form. Cheques are to be made payable to Walford Anglican School for Girls.

Selection Criteria:

Criteria for selection include academic achievement, personal qualities and involvement in co-curricular activities. A short-list of candidates for interview will be drawn from the application forms received. An award will be made following interview of those candidates.
