Scholarship Name:The Ada Computer Science Scholarship For Gifted Women

Introduction:
The School of Computer and Information Science (CIS) established the Ada Computer
Science Scholarship for Gifted Women in 2004 in recognition of Ada Lovelace. Ada Lovelace
(1815-1852) designed a computer language for an analytical engine concept and is
regarded as the first computer programmer in the world.In 1979, the language ‘Ada’ was named in
her honour. The Scholarship is awarded each year to a selected female student who enrols
in an undergraduate program leading towards a degree from the School of Computer and
Information Science. It is awarded on academic merit for the normal duration of an
undergraduate program (three or four years for a single degree, or four years for a double
degree).

Eligibility:
The recipient must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident. Applicants are required
to submit details of their academic record,a letter of recommendation from a teacher/
academic, and a short essay on why Computer Science or Information Technology or Information Systems suits their career goals
