University of Canterbury offers Christchurch Blackgrove Scholarships for Canterbury residents for the year 2009/10 in New Zealand
The Rotary Club of Christchurch Blackgrove Scholarship was established in 2007 by the Rotary Club of Christchurch through an endowment of $100,000 with the intention of providing a scholarship in perpetuity for a 1st year student.
The purpose of this scholarship is to attract students who face challenges which might otherwise prevent them from considering entry to tertiary education. It is aimed at students who would undertake a full-time study programme at the University of Canterbury.
While preference will be given to applicants who have been educated from within the Christchurch area, applications are open to students from the Canterbury region.
Eligibility:
- For students residing in the Canterbury region who face challenges which might otherwise prevent them from commencing tertiary education.
- Applicants may be school leavers, may have undertaken a gap year or may have left school up to two years ago.
How to apply:
- Applications must be handed in to the Scholarships Office, Level 3, Registry by 5pm 1 October: please understand that material supplied cannot be returned.
- Applications must arrive by the closing date shown on the form. No undertaking is given to accept late applications.
