The Dr Thelma Bessell-Brown Scholarship was established in honour of Dr Leo Leriche’s late wife Dr Thelma Bessell-Browne. Thelma was a teacher whodedicated her whole life to education, with a strong focus on reading and literacy in particular. The Dr Thelma Bessell-Browne Scholarship will be awarded to a student studying 4th Year in an Undergraduate Education degree in 2011 and who demonstrates a passion for education and a specific interest in reading and literacy
Eligibility Criteria:
* Students enrolling in their 4th Year at ECU in either
o Bachelor of Education (Primary) or
o Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) or
o Bachelor of Education (Kindergarten through Primary)
* having completed one of the following unit structures (or equivalent);
Amount: $1600
Frequency: $800 in semester one and two following census date
Method: Electronic funds transfer
Nationality: Australian citizen
