Murdoch Senate Scholarship Is For Undergraduates Courses By Murdoch University At Australia In 2010

The link to the electronic application will be available here on that date.Murdoch University introduced the Murdoch Senate Scholarship in 2005 to recognise the hardships some of our students face while studying. If you are experiencing financial or personal hardship while studying at Murdoch we encourage you to apply for the $3,000 scholarship that can be used to help you with some of the costs of full time study.
How Much Is The Scholarship:
The Scholarship is valued at $3,000 and is paid as two lump sums of $1,500 each semester for two semesters, and you can re-apply throughout your undergraduate studies as often as you need to.
Eligibility:
To see if you are eligible to apply, check if you meet all of these circumstances:
* Are you an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident with a Humanitarian Visa?
* Are you enrolled at Murdoch in your first undergraduate course, or enrolled in a PostGrad Dip Ed?
* Are you in financial hardship?
* Are you enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit points, or have exceptional reasons for studying part-time?
If you answered “yes” to all these questions you are eligible to apply for a Murdoch Senate Scholarship.
The Murdoch Senate Scholarship uses the same eligibility criteria as the former Commonwealth Scholarships.
How And When Can You Apply:
* Applications are open from the Monday of Orientation Week each semester and close at 4:30pm on the Friday of Week 2.
* The application form is electronic and the link to the form is available from this website when applications are open.
How Is Your Application Assessed:
All applications are ranked against each other in a careful assessment of the combination of each of these criteria:
* Overall eligibility requirements as outlined above
* Whether you are considered to belong to an equity grouping, for example if you have a disability or medical condition, if you are Indigenous, or if you have had to relocate from a regional or remote area to study at Murdoch
* What level of responsibility you may have for others, and your living arrangements
* Any difficult personal circumstances that may be unique to your life experience
* Your level of financial difficulty
* Australian Bureau of Statistics indicators of disadvantage.
Applications are scored against all of these factors and those with the most need are granted scholarships first. The Scholarships Office receives many more applications each semester than there are scholarships to allocate.
A Selection Panel considers aspects of your application such as any difficult personal circumstances you describe. The members of the Selection Panel are always made up of the Scholarships Officer, staff from the Equity, Access and Diversity office, and the First Year Experience coordinator as required.
How Do You Find Out If You’re Successful:
* The Scholarships Office contacts students by email only – so make sure you keep your eye on the email address you have registered in MyInfo.
* The Scholarships Office endeavours to contact all students about their application by the end of Week 5, and if you have been successful you will be paid shortly after that.
