Cape Town University Provides Sports Scholarships For Undergraduate Students 2010 In South Africa
About Us:
Each year, UCT distributes over R7m in entrance scholarships to school-leavers who are coming to study at the University for the first time. South African citizens and permanent residents are eligible for these awards.UCT has an excellent track record in a wide variety of sports and is keen to attract to sports people. These scholarships are available to applicants who have presented their Province at a national or age-group levelyou could be eligible for a sports scholarship of between R4 000 and R8 000.Eligible applicants need to apply to Sports and Recreation to be considered for these awards. The closing date for applications is 31 October for study in the following year. Sports Bursaries are available too. Eligibility:
Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate need to pass a minimum of four subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better from a designated list of subjects. The designated list is as follows:
o Accounting
o Agricultural Sciences
o Business Studies
o Dramatic Arts
o Economics
o Engineering Graphics and Design
o History
o Consumer Studies
o Information Technology
o Languages (one language of learning and teaching at a higher education institution and two other recognised language subjects)
o Life Sciences
o Mathematics
o Mathematical Literacy
o Music
o Physical Sciences
o Religion Studies
o Visual Art
